Public Speaking

Ruth is an accredited speaker for the WI and has considerable experience in giving talks at various conferences, book events and gatherings. She speaks on a variety of subjects including the art of writing, creating a fictional world, her illustrious ancestor the Bishop of Gloucester and the Suffolk-based charity the Beehive Nakuru.

“Ruth delivered a workshop on Self-promotion and enthusiasm, for our Year 10 Careers Conference 2025. She brought an energy and excitement to the workshop that engaged the students and retained attention. She spoke in an honest, relatable way, sharing highs and lows of being a self-employed author and provided real-life examples of how someone can promote themselves to achieve success in the world of work. Her enthusiastic approach and delivery inspired the students to be more confident and adopt a go-getter attitude.

We would definitely have Ruth back for more workshops and careers events as she represents a lot of the values and professional qualities we want to cultivate in our students at Farlingaye High School.”
